If you come upon this while driving, you are approaching an emergency scene. A scene where someone you may know or love is being assisted by firefighters, emergency medical personnel or police.

Depending on where this scene is occurring, the special fire police officers (that is their official title by commonwealth law) who are staffing the closure point may or may not be able to talk to you. Please stay patient. We ask that you continue moving as not to impede other drivers and cause a safety hazard. If you aren't familiar with the area, find a safe place such as a side street to pull off into. You will be able to safely check your phone for a safe alternate route.

Please consider these simple instructions when approaching a closure. Stopping at a closure puts yourself and the responders working at the closure point at risk.
